Denise Ery
Denise grew up in Belpre, Ohio. As a child she learned to garden with her grandmother. Some of her earliest memories are snapping beans in the garden with her. It was here that she learned to love and care for the soil and crops- instilling in her a compassion for things that grow. A seed was planted that would help her begin to understand the impact it has on us all. This compassion runs in her family. Her father, 83, still works a local garden community that puts out tons of food for people in need in the Belpre area. Denise has a passion for sustainable and organic produce, the quality of the soil and helping others discover this love of the soil from the young to the young at heart.

Denise and Elaine emphasize organic techniques. Grow Girl Organics believes that responsibly sourced organic food is fundamental to our quality of life, independence and security in the future of the world.

Elaine Silburn

Elaine is a native of Colorado and grew up under the influence of the Rocky Mountains in beautiful Golden. She grew up learning to appreciate nature, creativity and what it means to be family. Working in the family business, she learned how to lead and grow a business. The more Elaine learned about our issues as a planet, the more she saw the need for stronger communities where food is produced locally and with the greater environment in mind. Part of her dedicaton to this movement is to make this world a better place for her nine grandchildren.

Regional Grains and Legumes. New this year! The Veggie Van now offers Sprout City Farms' bulk grains, legumes and mixes. We're thrilled to be able to introduce our patrons to the rich heritage and ancient, and locally-adapted grains that go way beyond the typical monotonous wheat, and to the producers in our local grain chain! Spano's Fresh Produce has been serving the Denver Metro area for over 50 years! We are open April - October selling fresh vegetables, baked and canned goods, Pascal celery for Thanksgiving, and now, flowers and plants from our garden center! (5820 Lowell Blvd. 303-901-3356)

Frontline Farming is a community engaged in food production and education along the Front Range including at Majestic View Farm, a 2-acre plot adjacent to the Majestic View Nature Center in Arvada, Colorado. We grow high quality, organic food which supports fair wages for our farmers and is distributed through sales to a network of restaurants and institutional purchasers, sliding scale sales at farm stands and donations to a variety of non-profit partners. We undertake our work in order to honor the land and the community we cultivate. As educators we engage a range of individuals from elders to toddlers in ethical and sustainable growing practices that enhance land and community connections. We have done all of this while helping to build and expand a network of farms and farmers who mutually support one another’s work and vision of agriculture in Denver.
